J'adore Origami: Cute Gift Pocket

A gift from the heart is always special no matter what. But to add that special touch to your gift, the way you wrap or present it matters too. Though a gift may be petite in shape, the way it comes in its box or any kind of container would attract the receiver's attention first. Moreover when you made the container yourself, I'm pretty sure whoever receives the gift would be very happy, not to mention also amazed by it. How about, making a gift pocket by way of origami? Just follow the step-by-step pictures I set here to create an origami pocket. You don't need to use any type of adhesive and the pocket measurement is up to you. Try to practice creating with several different paper measurements. You need a square-shaped paper for all measurement. If you find this photo tutorial is hard to follow, please leave a comment, so I can help you. Below, is the pocket I created to place a gift for my daughter's teacher.

J'adore Origami: Origami Birthday Cake Tutorial

If you have someone's birthday coming up soon and you want to give her or him a birthday card, maybe you'd like to create it your own. Why don't you try to make origami birthday cake as a decoration for the card. The directions are easy and it's best if the paper you use to make the origami cake has patterned that matches a real cake, like stripes or polka dots. Start with the patterned paper on the top side and use a square paper. The size of the cake depends on the size of the paper you use. So I suggest you practice with several sizes of papers to make sure you get the cake size you want. The origami cake that I made was used for my best friend's birthday card. The pattern on the paper creates a similar look to a real cake.

J'adore Origami: My Neighbor Totoro

I haven't seen the movie yet, My Neighbor Totoro, or Tonari no Totoro. But a friend of mine tagged me on what looks like the step by step to make an origami Totoro. It was kind of hard to see the details, so I took up the challenge to create the directions in more detail. I figured if I could make one origami Totoro, others can do it too just as easily. I took each picture my self. Do me a favor, please, leave a comment here if you can manage to follow my directions, or if you find it hard, ask me away. Thanks, and have fun folding.

J'adore Origami:Lovely Origami Roses

Roses are blooming everywhere by this time of year here. Red, pink, orange, yellow, white, so many types of roses that I've seen here and there. Don't you wish you can copy the beauty in each roses unto your craft or artwork? One of the way to do it is through origami, the art of folding paper. This origami project is an intermediate scale of folding, just to let you know. You have to pay attention really well to every step, so your origami roses will be as beautiful as the real ones. For my projects using the origami roses, I used several used book pages. I cut them into square then folded into roses. I dabbed some ink stamp unto the roses to add some colors that I wanted it. If you use regular origami paper, start with the white side on the top or facing you. Here are the step by step directions how to create beautiful origami rose. Have a happy folding!

P.S. Please leave some comments if you think you understand the directions or when you finish creating a rose or two. I'd appreciate it, thanks.
